Tour safely- tour responsibly! Our first priority is and has always been your groups' safety.

SMS-logoWe were the first operator to implement a dedicated 24/7 Student Assistance Team. A full copy of the USMS is available on request from our offices. This initiative has the support of SASA (Student Activities Safety Association) and independent health and safety professionals are responsible for the annual training of our USMS officers. We're also founder members of TourWatch (see below).

TourWatch

content-top

TourWatch-logoWe've joined together with other established University sportsfestival operators to form TourWatch. TourWatch exists toprovide a communication forum between us festival/travelorganisers and also to promote the concept of 'ResponsibleTouring'. The key bit for you tourists intent on deliberatelycausing a bit more than your share of tour mayhem is:'banned from one, banned from all'.

We're really targeting the tiny minority of individuals who arecoming on tour with the intention to deliberately damageproperty, hurting or intimidating other tourists and/ordisrespecting staff, officials and locals. Every team has gotone. Control your 'loose cannon' this year, or you could findyourself banned from all tours for up to 2 years!

Our Responsible Touring drive is really about looking afteryour mates. Don't leave aman in the field! Beaccountable for your friends well-being- especially if youwere the one who gave themthe dodgy pint in the firstplace! If you leave us to dealwith them and don't help, expect repercussions!

What is 'Responsible Touring'?
Responsible Touring is a set of simple guidelines endorsed(and enforced) by TourWatch members designed to encouragestudents on tour to be responsible and accountable for theirown actions and the actions of their team-mates and topromote the safest possible touring environment for students, officials and staff participating in University sports festivals. Visit www.TourWatch.org for more information.

What do we do?
The purpose of this forum is not to spoil the fun of thethousands of student tourists who every year, enjoy thefantastic experience of tour, party and drink responsibly withtheir team-mates, look after each other and treat the hostresort with respect. The purpose of the forum is to collectively identify and hold accountable those university tour groups who:

  1. Act unreasonably, ignoring warnings and behavingrecklessly and irresponsibly on tour, endangering theirown safety and that of others.
  2. Cause deliberate vandalism/damage to accommodation, vehicles or venues.
